The votes Bronoske, Leavitt, and Nobles don’t want you to see
If you live in the 28th, you probably received this newsletter from Mari Leavitt and Dan Bronoske touting the great work they have done over the last 5 years. Every bill in the newsletter was supported by Republicans as well.
Bronoske and Leavitt hid the radical bills they voted to support. The following are just a few of the votes they don’t want you to know about. Why didn’t they mention these? What else are they hiding?

SB 5427 Voted to provide up to $2,000 for people to report their neighbors for “hate crimes” and “bias incidents”
The bill WILL create a hotline to the state Attorney General’s office for this purpose. The dollar reward would create an incentive to report incidents even when there is no evidence a criminal violation had occurred. The bill would create the possibility that informants will simply report people they don’t like to get them in trouble with the Attorney General. Under the bill the term “bias incident” can include “expressions” and other verbal statements, raising civil rights concerns about criminalizing First Amendment-protected speech. The bill provides no process for accused people to clear their names. This bill creates a financial incentive for people to judge each other, creating a suspicious, hostile environment in classrooms, workplaces and in the community.
This bill (and those that follow) was forced on the population by only Democrats. 100% of our Republicans voted against this overreach. This is why we need more Republicans.
SB 6058 Bronoske and Leavitt voted to force Washington’s carbon markets to align with the California-Quebec carbon market.
This despite the fact that “a bombshell New Yorker article…asserted that millions of carbon offsets generated by Kariba, a giant project that earned nearly $100 million for purportedly preventing deforestation in Zimbabwe, didn’t actually prevent deforestation and preserve the carbon in the trees and soil.” https://www.technologyreview.com/2023/11/02/1082765/the-growing-signs-of-trouble-for-global-carbon-markets/
SB 5462 Bronoske and Leavitt voted to pass a bill that amends state learning standards to include education on the LGBTQ+ community.
Instead of focusing on helping our kids succeed in math, science, and reading, Mari and Dan think we should spend taxpayer dollars to fund a committee that will create a curriculum about the history of a small portion (7% -10%) of our population. Teachers will be required to teach this curriculum and kids will be forced to endure it. "I don’t believe that’s the state’s responsibility. When you break down our main reason for being opposed is more or less the sexualization of children at that very young age," Brian Noble, with the Family Policy Institute of Washington, told KOMO News. https://komonews.com/news/local/washington-state-lgbtq-history-taught-public-schools-beginning-2025-sb-5462-marko-liias-sponsor-inclusive-learning-standards-education-ospi
HB 1903 Bronoske and Leavitt voted to require victims of firearm loss or theft to report the incident to local law enforcement within 24 hours or face a $1,000 fine.
Law-abiding citizens already have enough trouble defending themselves from criminals that are running rampant in Washington state due to the other laws that Democrats, including Dan and Mari, have voted to approve. Rather than trying to figure out how to take guns away from criminals, Dan and Mari are intent on punishing legal gun owners, many of whom bought their guns because of the rising crime in their neighborhoods due to Democrat-led policies.
HB 2118 Bronoske and Leavitt voted to burden gun dealers with more rules related to surveillance cameras, steel doors, and costly liability insurance.
Even the Seattle Times had this to say about HB 2118: It “pushes gun control to a level of punishment for legitimate businesses.” Mari and Dan didn’t care. Now, gun dealers will be required to run annual background checks on their employees, carry $1 million liability insurance, install steel doors or bars at the business, “and meet onerous requirements for storage and security systems with audio and video surveillance. Gun dealers would have to digitally archive some video for two years. Dealers would also be required to file annual reports with the state that attest to their compliance. This bill would impose costs on small firearms sellers that could force them out of business and open even wider the black market for gun sales.” https://www.seattletimes.com/opinion/editorials/two-wa-gun-bills-are-spot-on-but-a-third-is-unfair-to-dealers/
T’wina Nobles
T’wina’s so radical, she gets her own section. But rest assured, Bronoske, Leavitt, and the rest of the Democrats are in lockstep with her on all the following issues.
